Designer Paint Colours on the Cheap!

Ah Pinterest, you sneaky thing, always suggesting notoriously pricey paint brands with the most beautiful colours. I get it, you can’t put a price on quality, like I understand that, but is the $25 extra per can worth it? Some may say yes when people like me who cruise for deals would have second thoughts.

There is the second part of being able to get those beautiful colours only from that specific paint brand. Not so fast though, I may have been living under a rock but any colour you like you can get in any brand. Yes, you heard that right it worked for me. So here is the backstory on my recent paint discovery.

                                                  

I have been wanting to paint my dining room white and decided on the ever so popular Chantilly Lace from Benjamin Moore. To no one's surprise, the cost of this paint was a lot more than what I’m used to paying. I grabbed a paint chip and headed off to our local Home Depot, and went to the paint department looking for a match. 

         

Well, there is no need because if you know the colour and number of the paint you are looking for, they can just make it there. A quick Pinterest or Google search will provide all the information you need. I was able to get the Chantilly Lace colour for my Behr paint, saving me roughly $25 a can. Since I bought two cans I roughly saved $50 overall. I also got a small tester pot of the colour Old Navy by Benjamin Moore using this same method. I plan on using this in a DIY project, so stay tuned with more to come on that. 

              

When you’re trying to do a renovation on a budget, it makes a big difference. I know some people will say Benjamin Moore is the best paint, but when you're indecisive like me and enjoy a good deal, this is the best option. Additionally, I have asked a couple of friends about this trick and found that it was 50/50. Some knew about this and the others who didn’t at all were left fairly surprised.
